This pair sits on a beige rubber sole and features a logo embossed on the tongue, a gold-tone quotation embossed on the side, the brand's signature three stripes perforated onto the sides and the Star Wars-inspired green heel counter with the Master Yoda-shaped patch. This model's name was inspired by the American tennis player, Stan Smith, who had them on his feet while winning 1971 US Open and 1972 Wimbledon – although at the time they were still named after another tennis player, Frenchman Robert Haillet. The official change of the model name took place in 1978. ‘Primegreen’ is a line that uses recycled materials in the production of high-quality products.
